Mission Statement

The mission of the Faculty of Science and Technology Education is to prepare teachers and other professionals in the area of Science, Mathematics, Health, Physical Education and Recreation, Vocational and Technical Education, and Information and Communication Technology whose content background is rich and deep and are proficient in teaching, research and practice in their specialty areas using available contemporary technology. Using research and active learning experiences within a supportive community, the Faculty of Science and Technology Education will train graduates to also be research oriented, responsive citizens, and effective leaders in science, mathematics, health, physical education, vocational and technical education, and information and communication technology education.

Objectives

The objectives of the Faculty of Science and Technology Education are to:

  1. train high quality teaching professionals in Science, Mathematics, Health, Physical Education and Recreation, Vocational and Technical Education, and Information and Communication Technology to meet the increasing demands in our educational set up and society;
  2. equip professionals with Science, Mathematics, Health, Physical Education, Vocational and Technical Education, and Information and Communication skills to solve the needs of society;
  3. prepare leaders in the field of science and technology education to effect changes in education and society.
